Who am I?
Here comes the biography... yes I know, we all hate this stuff, but I've
gotta do it...
I was born in Melbourne, and have lived my entire life in the same city.
I've always shown a flair for the creative, and drawing in particular.
Many of my earliest pictures Iever drew are still kept safely hidden away
from prying eyes.
The first homoerotic illustration I drew was at the age of 13. This was
of 3 cricket players whom I had a schoolboy crush on.
Back then in the
late 70's, many of the Australian cricket team sported what we now recognise
as the “porn star ‘stache”. The tendency of Australian cricket players
to be solid men who also wore their shirts open to the navel to expose
their thickly thatched chests turned my young head, and appealed to the
budding bear within me.
Continuing to explore this style of drawing and my own sexuality for
some years, I focussed largely on a comic book style of art.
Eventually,
“real life” intruded on my hobby and I let my art slide until almost a
decade later when I discovered the art of such artists as Tom of Finland,
the Hun, Bill Ward, and Dade Ursus. Seeing that other artists had made
a name for themselves in the homoerotic field, I renewed my passion for
my art, and began drawing anew, focussing on the types of men that I found
attractive.
A major highlight of my career was my inclusion in the invitation only
“Lucky 13” exhibition at the Tom of Finland Foundation, and I'm proud
to say that my piece has been accepted and is preserved by the Foundation
for future generations.
I've also produced logos and pieces that are used
by bear clubs around the world, and I'm currently working on several projects
including computer colouring, exploring other mediums, and I hopes to
debut my own homoerotic comic in the style of Bill Ward's “DRUM”.
I currently live in Australia and have a burning ambition to have “my”
bears recognised the world over.
