Yoda is a bit like his name sake, a little older, a little wizened but this older gent has the most gorgeous soul that shines out of him. He loves having a fellow similar sized canine friend in the backyard and quite enjoys games of chasing and pretend fetch (he runs for the toy and then races back to tell you that he found it but he’s not picking it up thanks : ) He loves his humans (he’s very loyal) and its not unusual to have him at your heels watching everything you do. He is very good at bath and is not a fussy eater – quite the reverse actually - he absolutely loves his food, he has been practicing sitting and is very food responsive. Yoda has mild luxating patella in one leg which this gives him no trouble at all. He enjoys his morning naps in the sun and is quite happy to hang out with his canine mates until you come home and once you are home he is thrilled to bits to see you and his tail doesn’t stop wagging. Yoda is fine with kids, he absolutely loves any human attention regardless of age. This loyal little man is just so well behaved and will give you huge amounts of love and affection if you just give him a chance to win you over with his sweet disposition.

So gentle natured and calm..
He loves the attention and company of adults & children alike. He will lift his paw to place on your lap,
and stick his nose under your arm if you stop patting him. Loves a good brush.
He is well socialised with other dogs and cats, and is good on a lead.
As he is an older dog, he needs to sleep indoors, and be a part of the family.

Gypsy is an intelligent active dog who is good with children and other large dogs. She learns quickly, is very playful and is a loving, loyal companion.
She has a bright bubbly personality and is always ready for a game with both her people and K9 companions. She is still learning manners as she will occasionaly jump up for a cuddle. Gypsy is currently living with 4 children and another large dog where she is proving to be quite child friendly, but may be too active for some young children.
Gypsy is a delightful dog who will make a wonderful companion to an active couple or family.

Special Needs Dog
Looking for a devoted, smoochy, delightful natured house dog that wants to be your constant companion? Bling is a very muscley American Staffy x. She acts very much like a young pup still and loves nothing more than being with you and getting a nice scratch, she also adores being inside the house! Bling prefers her female carer but does warm to men too.Her previous foster home had children and she was fantastic with them. Bling is excitable around other dogs but doesn't appear to have any issues apart from that, we are not sure how she is with other smaller animals at this stage. Bling is a strong, smart and placid dog, Who needs further training but once you have her attention she is eager to please and is fairly well behaved. Bling is a special needs girl as she requires a roofed run when outside if her owners aren't home. When you are home she delights in being an indoor/outdoor dog in the company of her owners.

Barney

Barney was abandoned as a young dog left to wander the streets all alone. The resident store owner felt sorry for him so would leave food out for him. However Barney belonged to no-one. Barney had to find different places to sleep at night to stay dry and warm.
Anne a DCH Animal Adoption foster career noticed that Barney always seemed to hang around this store and when she equired with the owner of the store he informed her that Barney had been abandoned some years ago and had continued to hang around the local Streets. Barney then came into DCH Animal Adoptions care. For the first few days Barney was very sad and depressed as he was unsure of what was going on and he did not understand English very well. However after a few days he began to trust and he started to relax settling in and making himself at home. Now after being in care for about a month Barney has completely changed and is a very happy confident dog who loves human company but equally enjoys playing and hanging out with his new found canine friends. He is very gentle with children and when anyone gives him attention he laps it up. Barney doesnt really like his feline friends as he feels that they are put on earth to chase (not harm) but chase.
Generally Barney is now a well adjusted happy dog who has learnt after all this time to be a dog and hang out in a back yard where he gets plenty of Love, food, shelter and companionship without having to try to hard.

Tessa is a sweetheart. She is playful and social with other dogs but call her to you and she will crawl up on her belly wagging her tail sheepishly and then will melt into your arms and snuggle in.

Nilla

Nilla is a beautiful girl who is very affecionate, friendly and is
very people orientated. She loves nothing more than to be with her
human family getting all the attention. Nilla is very playful and she
would love some children to play with at her new home or even another
doggie friend to play with. She is learning how to fetch a ball (well
she chases it anyway doesnt bring is back as yet). Nilla lives with 9
other dogs 5 of whom are chihuahuas she is great with them and you can
often find them curled up asleep together in the kennel, she is very
well socialised with big and small dogs. She also lives with 3 cats
who are very dog friendly and rub up against her all the time and she
is also good with them but she could only go to a cat friendly home if
her new feline friends aren't scared of dogs and dont run away from her
if they do she will chase them. Nilla requires little excerise she
gets a 10 minute walk a day and thats enough for her and she would
require even less if she had some children to play with her and keep
her busy. She sleeps most of the day doesn't fret or bark if left by
herself during the day so she would make a great only dog too. Nilla
walks great on the lead and never pulls. If Nilla sounds like your new

Hannah

Looking very beautiful Hannah is an active girl, loves her play with the family and her walks. Saved from the pound I believe she has been well treated in the past & has no fear of people/objects/gestures which is great. I don't think she had much training but is very food orientated so I'm finding attention at training sessions is easy. She knows Sit & Beg & for both my husband & I will loose lead walk. She loves a game of ball but has no interest in swimming or our pool play. She is an inside/outside dog. I find with all the GSD I have fostered they attach more to one member of the family than others & this is the case with Hannah too. She knows when I leave the house rather than my husband. She is at home with 3 children, youngest is 7 and plays nicely with all. She can wait now for food and an invitation to go through the door although with strangers the temptation to forget the training is strong.
I visualize her in a family home, preferably one with previous GSD experience or large breed experience. I don't know what she is like around small dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, cows or any other animals but she doesn't appear to like staffy's so perhaps she's had a bad experience with one in the past.

Thorpe

Thorpe is a very friendly and sweet natured boy who loves to play. He has a very thick coat so he needs to be in a hoem where he will be brushed very regularly and must has access to a cool area especially during the hot days. He is very people social and great with other dogs but not good with cats so he needs to be in a cat free home. A property inspection of potential home is required prior to rehoming.
