A Short History of the Fitchburg Steam Engine Company.

This excellent piece of History was recorded by The Fitchburg Sentinel Newspaper on
March 23, 1912 - 41 years after the Fitchburg Steam Engine Company's inception of 1871.

Also interesting to note is that The Fitchburg Sentinel - Enterprise, is still published even today
after all these years. It is now published by the MediaNews Group, Inc. and Mid-States Newspapers, Inc.

The Fitchburg Sentinel Newspaper was first published way back on December 20, 1838.
The Daily Sentinel began its existence on May 6, 1873 - with the Fitchburg Tribune being issued weekly.
Another Newspaper by the name of the " Leominster Enterprise " which was founded
in 1872 was to later merge with the Fitchburg Sentinel Newspaper on September 1, 1973.
