Submission Guidelines:
Elioise is temporarily not accepting submissions due to an incredibly large queue. Any submissions received after April 26th, 2003, until otherwise noted on this page, will be forwarded to italicplatypus whose email is listed below. All the diaries in queue before that date will be reviewed in the order they were received. Thanks in advance for your continued patience.
Although not an extensive list, there are a few things that I consider when reviewing a diary.
I prefer not to review anything with excessive violence or pornographic material. If you don't know what I mean by excessive, you are free to submit your diary and I will make the judgement call.
Submitting is as easy as sending me an email. Please remember to take the "remove" part out of the address otherwise I will not receive it.
Also you now have a choice of reviewers. I've taken on a new co-reviewer who goes by the name italicplatypus who believes "a good read is hard to find." She is an avid reader of online journals, and is always on the lookout for a great new read. She likes to read diaries that offer insight into the diarist's life. No subject is taboo. If you would like to be reviewed by italicplatypus, email her. Look for her unrequested reviews in the upcoming weeks to see what kind of reviewer she is.
In the past I asked the diarist to describe to me why they think I should review their diary, obviously the more creative the better, now I simply leave this up to your own personal taste.
Please have the url of the diary in the subject line, I prefer it that way, otherwise hotmail opens the link of the url inside their window. I'm sure this little rule shouldn't be a problem, although you wouldn't believe the amount of emails I get that fail to follow through with the most simple of requests.
Next, I simply ask that upon receiving your review notice (usually done by guestbook or email) that you provide a courtsey link back to the site. Although this as well shouldn't be that hard, I have run into the occassional diarists that refused to link back to me. I can't enforce this request, but please bear in mind the service I am providing you and the amount of people I send your way via my link to your diary.
Finally, although not as important as a link back, I would like it if you waited at least a week after my review before changing your layout. I've had reviews go up and literally the same day the layout I reviewed had been replaced with something that is nothing like the one I critiqued. This is also something not very considerate of the time I spent providing my review since my readers will have no idea what I'm talking about when they go to your diary.
