Copperkee Labradors are a
small kennel made up of all 3 colours -
each of them as beautiful as the next and all important members of our
family.
Our breeding dogs are all hip/elbow scored and tested for PRA.
Puppies are sometimes available and all are raised in a family environment.
Having done obedience on and off for many years prior to establishing our
kennel,
we decided to take our hobby further and venture into showing and breeding.
So in 2003, Copperkee Labradors was established.
In 2005
we gained our first show dog and our goals at Copperkee also changed to focus more on the chocolate Labrador lines here in Australia,
and promoting the colour out and about in the show ring.
In 2006
we added a Miniature Bull Terrier to our family where we showed her to a 12 point Best of Breed at the Brisbane Royal on her first
birthday
and her Australian Champion title shortly after.

In 2009
we added two Australian Shepherds to the show team
where they took out multiple age class in groups and also gained their
Championship titles.
However, our passion for the Labradors has seen us working hard on expanding our Labrador show team, and us focusing more on our homebred dogs in the
show ring.
The
“Copperkee” prefix was originally owned by Mrs. D & Mr. M Creagh, however, in late 2010 the kennel was changed into Mrs. D Creagh and Miss J Creagh
when Jamie-Lee reached the age of 18.
Since
then, we added a new dog to the family, a Cocker Spaniel,
who is owned by the youngest daughter of the family but is shown by Jamie.
We
actively support both Open Shows and Championship shows with our dogs and
since we started showing our results for both types of shows have seen us
take out
62 age class in groups, 4 age class in shows, 2 Runner up Best in Groups, 1
Best in Group
and 1 Runner up Best in Show, 5 places in sweepstakes, and a second place in
Breeder/owner sweepstakes.
We have also taken out Runner up Dog Challenge with our Chocolate boy
“Moose”
at both the Toowoomba Royal and the Brisbane Royal.
At the
Labrador Specialties we have taken out multiple places in classes
and age class/opposite sex age classes in show. We have also taken out
multiple property classes and opposite sex property classes in show.
These include Tail, Feet, Coat and Best Headed Bitch.
Most of
the dogs have been shown by Jamie-Lee Creagh who started out
showing at the age of 12. We have now shown a total of seven dogs to
their Championship titles, three of which are home bred.

We are
registered breeders with the Canine Control Council of Qld
