Must I?

People choose their destiny
Pour their own libation;
See the world in other places
without seeing, without thought
It is time I face this sight
- a sight that must be sought
It is time I face this fight
- a fight that must be fought.

Must I drink this cup of penance?
Why must my insistence be truth?
Can't I walk like other mortals
Weaving webs of own pursuits?
No I must choose the narrow portal
Where I buy the wholesome fruit
But lack the strength to show the way
With my Life is in such a disarray.

Come, join me, Christian soldiers
Come, join me, Moslems, riot all
We have lost the right to life
while Hungry Children Starve and Fall;
Are we void of love and feeling?
Then question life within us all;
I hear voices - all appealing
"Please let us live" they call.

Make a chain and hand in hand
- whatever is your moral creed
together, without doubt we can
Take the food from selfish greed
together make a Humane stand
and vote for those in greatest need;
Let's help these children live again
by wiping off this shameful stain.

Let's send our caring help to them
- their life of sorrow without end
Sincerely hope that we can mend
the wounded hatred they defend;
With kindness combat bitter minds
with nourishment help other kinds
Then, by the grace of God - and Man
We'll see these children live again.
