• The Mission Beach SES is up and running. Ron Darlington heads a committed team of locals who give of their time to be of assistance to the community.
• We bid a fond farewell to Norman and Shiela McCure of Castaways Resort.. Both Norman and Shiela have worked tirelessly within the community of Mission Beach and have powered some of the areas most rewarding tourism initiatives. "Time to start relaxing" is what they tell us.

• Mission Beach Accommodation - luxury under the coconut trees. That's the theme of the Getaway Television show's coverage of the Sejala luxury accommodation venue in Mission Beach. The popular tourism show recently spent three days at Sejala. The coverage will further raise the already booming profile Mission Beach.
• Quick Cat Cruises have launched a new website that highlights their Ferry service to Dunk Island as well as their famous Great Barrier Reef trips from Mission Beach.
• Congratulations to Ron Darlington for his amazing Mission Beach photography achievements. Ron's work can now be seen in the Tropical North Queensland Classic Calendar as well as on some of the most highly acclaimed tourism websites of the region. Well done to Ronnie and his bag of Nikon's.
• Well known Mission Beach artist Helen Wiltshire has finally made the move onto the internet with the launch of her single page site. Helen Wiltshire Galleries exhibit a great range of her own works, including originals on canvas, as well as prints in posters and limited editions.
  
• Yet another niche Mission Beach service is now online. Robyn Kirby's Vibrational Healing offers a unique way to help those who seek inner happiness.
• We don't normally promote any form of Mission Beach real estate for sale, but we will make an exception for these four magnificent world heritage blocks of land. These are spectacular pristine rainforest properties, not your normal Mission Beach land for sale. They must be seen to be believed.
• The Mission Beach Water Taxi is back in full swing. New owners and crew offer a very professional service to Dunk Island now.
• Zestivale Restaurant in Castaways Resort is earning quite a reputation as being one of the areas best fine dining venues. And speaking from personal experiencce I can understand why.
• Mission Beach Foliage the wholesale plant nursery is developing quite a name for themselves. Apparently the quality of their locally grown North Queensland palms and cycads are in demand from all over Australia. Well done indeed!
• Sue and Mike Morrison are set to make quite an impact with their new Mission Reef Resort - a fine example of Mission Beach apartments accommodation when it opens in May. Sue and Mike were responsible for the recent fund raising Chinese dinner event that raised over $4,000.00 to help the tsunami recovery effort. Almost all of Mission Beach supported the event (including yours truly). Well done to Sue and Mike and we wish them well.
• Our favourite Queensland Gourmet Deli, Oliveri's Continental Deli is making a name for themselves in the Lonely Planet Guide. You won't find a better Queensland Delicatessen and now the world seems to know, their lunch rolls are worth travelling half way around the planet for!!
• And a gigantic thank you the Australian domain names registrar My Internet Names for their continued excellent support of Mission Beach. You will find Mission Beach featured on the My Internet Names website. The coverage is very much appreciated.
• Mission Beach Rainforest Motel is under new management and we can already see some excellent improvements. Quality Mission Beach motel accommodation is alive and well.

• The new Mission Beach Tourism website narrowly missed out on taking the 2004 Telstra Country Wide Media Awards for their excellent website. Their new site has raised the bar for quality in representing Mission Beach.
• Castaways On The Beach Resort, famous for its perfect beachfront accommodation in Mission Beach takes out a 2004 Tropical North Queensland Tourism Award.

• Cassie the Cassowary is about to hit the bigtime at Mission Beach. Reliable sources report that Cassie is gearing up to visit numerous locations in the coming months, especially websites. Keep your eyes peeled for Cassie!
