There are about 20 true Epiphyllums which are called "species".  Most are white and night blooming.  When crossed with other cacti they produce todays hybrids which are day blooming and are correctly called epicacti.

These hybrids produce amazing flowers of all hues, and will grow and bloom in most parts of Australia.
