Student
WelfareThe Institute recognizes the need for overseas students to
settle in comfortably i n a new environment and has appointed a Student
Welfare Office to look after the various needs of the student. Every request
for assistance is treated seriously and students are advised to contact the
Student Welfare office for all their enquiries regarding day to day living in
Australia, information regarding banking and transport, counseling services,
family welfare and other issues which may crop up from time to time.
The institute encourages students to make the most of their stay in
Australian and participate in various social and multi-cultural activities and
to enjoy the amenities and facilities and environment which Australia offers to
all.
Free Airport Pick Up The Institute is happy to meet and greet overseas students at Melbourne Airport by prior arrangement.
Short Term Accommodation
A range of suitable accommodation is available for SHORT STAYS, immediately on arrival, ranging from AUD $30 per day to AUD $50 per day in backpacker hostels, caravan parks or twin share furnished apartments (with all cooking facilities etc). These expenses are payable by students directly to the owners of the premises. The Institute can arrange this short term accommodation on behalf of the students. Students are advised to contact the institute early as availability is seasonal and most places require some advance payments with the bookings.
Accommodation (Long term) Assistance
LONG TERM accommodation is available including rentals and home-stay. The institute provides full assistance to overseas students including advice on location, suitable agents, rental agreements with agents etc. Upon admission, a list of internet sites and agents is provided to students who can select their place of stay in advance and advise the Institute to book on their behalf.
Students are advised to contact the Institute Welfare Officer before signing any contract or paying any advance to the agents, for LONG TERM accommodation, so that they are aware of the local rules and practices.
Staff Support
Staff are available for consultation after lecture and tutorial hours at request of students.
Medical and Counseling
The Institute has excellent contacts with local doctors and physiotherapists and can arrange appointments. A list of counselors is available with the Institute.
Institute does nor charge any referral fees but students will be required to
pay for the services they use.
Career Guidance
Students are encouraged to contact the Director or Staff for advice on future studies and career development.
