Curtin
FM is Western Australia's oldest community radio station. Known
originally as 6NR, its studios have been located on the campus of
Perth's Curtin University since its inaugural broadcast in 1976.
The
Curtin station has won many awards and is highly regarded for its media
training programs. Its volunteers work as presenters, producers, music
librarians and administrators.
Since late 2002,
with Retirees WA as a major access user, Curtin FM has been delivering
a talk-and-music mix designed to meet the needs of Perth's 45+ audience
demographic. Programs include old time music, swing, jazz, blues,
country & western, soul, pop, disco, rock, comedy and lifestyle
shows.
Curtin FM broadcasts to the Perth metropolitan area on 100.1.
