RTRFM is an independent, self funded community radio station broadcasting 24 hours a day to the Perth metro area and surrounding districts on 92.1. On air since 1977, it is Western Australia's oldest FM radio station.

RTR broadcasts a range of alternative music and is a driving force for the local music industry. It also has a keen focus on the arts, as well as environmental, social and political issues.

Market research suggests that around 250,000 listeners tune into RTR every week, mostly represented by the 18 to 24 age demographic. The station also reaches out internationally on the web with listeners and subscribers around the globe.

Each year, RTR runs a series of extremely successful fundraising events. The most important of these is its annual Radiothon which generates the listener subscriptions that ensure RTRFM's financial self-sufficiency.
