COMMUNITY BROADCASTING STATIONS IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Twin Cities FM

A local community radio station broadcasting to the rapidly growing cities of Joondalup and Wanneroo in Perth's northern suburbs, 89.7 Twin Cities FM is operated entirely by volunteers.

In line with its motto "local people; local talk; local radio", Twin Cities FM features community news, views and popular music from the '60s to the latest chart hits, with special focus on local musicians through the station's twice-weekly "Live at the Depot" band nights.

Twin Cities' diverse crew of volunteers are brought together by their common allegiance to the station. Involved in a wide variety of tasks including production, presentation, scriptwriting, administration, technical operations, events management, marketing and promotion, they form a dedicated and dynamic team.

The station actively promotes local events and activities, and frequently broadcasts from Wanneroo/Joondalup shows, festivals, shopping centres and open days.

Boasting more than 16,000 listeners, Twin Cities FM actively supports the "buy locally" ethic through its community sponsorship initiatives.
