DOCUMENTS

Reference material

Various documents relevant to the Western Australian community broadcasting sector are available for online reference and/or download, as follows:

Community Broadcasting Codes of Practice - November 2002
These revised Codes of Practice, developed by the CBAA and registered by ACMA, set out the responsibilities of community broadcasting licensees. They have been modified to reflect community attitudes, complainants' concerns, and the views of the community broadcasting sector in Australia.

Sponsorship Guidelines - August 2003

These are the latest guidelines developed by ACMA covering the broadcast of announcements and other promotional material on Australian community radio. They are designed for reference purposes only, and do not replace requirements set out in the Broadcasting Services Act 1992.

Additional documents are available on this website for WACBA members only.

"Understanding the difference between permitted promotional material and advertisements is important for community broadcasters ... Failure to comply might breach a licence condition which carries with it serious penalties, including licence suspension and cancellation."
