STARTING UP A COMMUNITY RADIO STATION
Codes of Practice
Every Australian community broadcasting organisation
must adhere to the Codes of Practice, which were revised by the CBAA
and registered by the Australian Broadcasting Authority (Now ACMA -
Australian Communications & Media Authority) in October 2002.
All community broadcasters in Australia should
familiarise themselves thoroughly with the Codes. They include specific
regulations relating to:
- responsibilities of broadcasting to the community
- guidelines for all programming
- Australian music content
- sponsorship
- volunteers
- conflict resolution
- complaint handling
- codes review
