Roco Pinzgauer Models
I think I have most of the Pinzgauer models in the Roco range, but as yet I haven't photographed them all........If you think you have an interesting or unique Roco Pinzgauer model or model of any type, for that matter of fact, then please feel free to contact me with the details.
An interesting story re the Roco models is that they were the first Pinzgauer models I ever saw. A friend brought one back from Europe for me in the mid 80's (the 712K shown below) and little did he know what he really started. For the next 3 years I contacted more model shops than I care to remember both here and overseas trying to track down other models in the range, but nothing, then one day it was suggested to me that I contact a shop that specialised in model trains. The result....the shop had one of every Roco Pinzgauer in stock, and where were they....about 3 km from my home.
For their scale the Roco models are remarkably accurate, and Roco even go to the trouble of printing the tyre manufacturers lettering and detail on the sidewalls. I was also suitably impressed by the accuracy of the "pressed rib" detail and badges on areas like the front panel.
The Roco models are all HO Scale (1:87) which makes the 710 (4X4) Pinzgauer models approximately 50 mm long and the 712 (6X6) Pinzgauers approximately 58mm.
