Lego Town was growing. It
took over the lounge room, dining room and half the kitchen for 6 weeks
every year.
At the same time our family
was growing up and we started to plan an extension to our home. Pieter's
uncle, Adrian came to do the building in September, 1998, believing he was
building a family room. But privately we had already begun to refer to it as
the Lego Room. A large, 6metres by 7metres room with blue carpet (to
represent the surrounding sea) resulted.
Christmas 1998 was very
special. We invited the wider family for christmas dinner but by 4pm we
began to make subtle suggestions that they should leave. We wanted to begin
the next building project - Lego Land in a brand new room.
