The Curriculum Framework The Curriculum Framework has an overarching statement that lists twelve learning outcomes to be incorporated in eight different learning areas. These eight areas also have their specific learning outcomes. This site is concerned with the eight learning areas that are listed below with the description from the curriculum framework. Click on the subject name for more information as well as ideas, links and resources for teaching in the area. The Arts: "In The Arts students develop creative skills,critical appreciation and knowledge of artistic techniques and technologies in dance, drama, media, music, visual arts and combinations of arts forms." English: "In English, students learn about the English language and how to use it effectively." Health and Physical Education: "Health and Physical Education develops an understanding of health issues and the skills needed for confident participation in sport and recreational activities." Languages Other Than English: "In languages other than English, students communicate effectively in languages other than English and further develop their skills and understandings in English." Society and Environment: "Society and Environment develops students understandings of how individuals and groups live together and interact with their environment." Mathematics: "In Mathematics, students use ideas about number, space and chance, and mathematical ways of representing patterns and relationships, to describe, interpret and reason about their social and physical world." Science: "In Science, students investigate, understand and describe the physical, biological and technological world and value systems and processes that support life on our planet." Technology and Enterprise: "In Technology and Enterprise, students apply knowledge, skills and resources in the development of practical solutions to problems."
