A
versatile musician who is also an accomplished guitarist, David Osborne
made his solo debut at the age of sixteen playing the first solo line
of J.S. Bach’s Double Violin Concerto. He has
worked as a performer, composer and arranger, and conducted the
Queensland Theatre (now Philharmonic) Orchestra. His compositions and
arrangements include a station ID for Channel 7, the theme music for
the Commonwealth Festival of the Arts and the soundtrack for the
award-winning documentary The Cape York Connection.
David Osborne has composed most of the
repertoire performed by the Raga Dolls Salon Orchestra, and directs the
group.
His
music has won a large following through the airplay it has
received on ABC Classic FM. In addition to it’s concerts David has led
the orchestra in performing live on popular TV Quiz show
“Spicks
and Specks”, Classic FM (Classic Breakfast), Radio National
(The
Music Show and The Deep End), and on 774 ABC Melbourne (Evenings with
Derek Guille). David is contracted as a composer to ABC Music
Publishing. He has a passion for furthering the cause of the arts in
his local area, the North Western Suburbs of Melbourne and is a
founding member of the City of Hume Arts Advisory Team.
