They make ideal pets for the individual and family.  Their personality is somewhat interesting as they are intelligent and extroverted. The Rex is one of the few breeds that like crowds and excitement and watches with interest.  It likes people and likes to participate in their activities.  Using its paws like hands, a  Cornish Rex can pick up small objects and some have even learnt to open doors and retrieve toys.  The Rex is very happy to cuddle up on its owners laps and better still under the owners chin.  The  Cornish Rex is one of the most versatile pets with a mood to match every occasion; it is truly a cat for all seasons.  The Rex is very fastidious about their own grooming and hygiene, but also find it necessary to groom their human companions as well.  The Rex is an active cat that has no problem creating its own entertainment.  The Rex never loses interest in games, an adult is just as playful as a kitten.  To be a family member with free run of the house is the best life for a Rex Cat.  The Rex loves the heat and in the winter will be found in front of the heater and in summer will enjoy lying in the sun.  The Cornish Rex will give you and your family many hours of enjoyment and should be kept indoors.  The Rex cat may venture outdoors with supervision.

Their appearance is also unique, they have a very well muscled body, are very svelte, like that of a Siamese, have long slender legs and small oval paws. They have very large ears on what you might call a sculptured face with a roman profile. Their coat is very soft and silken and is wavy or curly from head to tail.
