Flanagans
Reserve, located 15 Km west of Rathdowney, SE Qld, is a pleasant bush
camping ground.
Vehicular access is not a problem although approaching from Rathdowney, you
will encounter a very steep climb on one section of the sealed
road. It could be a concern for a modestly power vehicle towing a large
caravan. |
This
is a pleasant quiet camping area on mainly level ground with many fireplace
/ BBQs provided.
The western boundary is a lovely permanent creek (it's actually the upper
reaches of the Logan River), and there are some great swimming holes and
fishing spots, although you will need more luck/skill than I have.

During the past 12 months managers Gerard & Juanita have secured a long
term lease and have undertaken many improvement to the reserve.
Facilities now include shower and toilet block and small shop.
Well behaved dogs on leads are welcomed but trail bikes are not. |
|
4 Km to the west is Mt Maroon in the Mt Barney National Park.
Bush walking is a popular activity.
