Avalon was suddenly taken from us way too early on 25 September 2007.  She had cancer of her spleen which had spread throughout her body.  She showed no signs of anything wrong until 2 weeks before we put her to sleep which included not eating properly and sudden weight loss and pale gums.  She will be greatly missed by myself, Liane, Gary and Benjamin who she lived with, and all others who came in contact with her.   Such a tragic loss. 

Avalon lived with Liane Donoghue of Ironrose Kennels together with her daughter Trinity. 

Avalon has excellent conformation, movement and temperament and is a pleasure to live with.  She is medium sized, loves to show and is excellent with kids.  She is a very handy girl for breeding as she has a strong front with great angles front and rear, which is extremely hard to find and keep when breeding Ridgebacks.

Avalon is line bred to my foundation bitch Ch Castlerhode Cher who had similar conformation and temperament.  In her pedigree are some well known dogs including her mum and dad who are Best in Show Specialty winners.  Her grandfather, Ch Rijstone Diesel N Dust, who was a multiple Sire & Progeny winner as well as Specialty winner and her great grandfather Ch Marsabit Mfumo who was a dual National winner.  .

Avalon gained her Title in style under Canadian judge Ms. A. Hennigan at Cranbourne Dog Club  in January 2004, also taking out Best of Breed and Runner-Up in Group.

Avalon has had 2 litters to date, the first to Aust and US Ch Camelot's Code Red from which Ch Rijstone Sir Lancelot and Rijstone Fun N Games were produced and kept by myself.  Lance and Trinity have their own pages. 

Avalon's second litter was to Jomeja Tale of the Cat which was another good ridged litter but chose not to keep anything.
