XJ6 Jaguar (Before)
This is what the Jaguar looked like when I purchased the car in 1996
The Jaguar was painted Fern Gray with an Olive Green interior.
White sheepskin seat covers hid the tatty Olive Green leather seats.
The previous owner had fitted tyres far wider than required, a sports steering
wheel, recovered the dash top, and replaced the hood lining. the photo
on the right was taken after I had removed the head to replace the gasket,
and discovered that the motor had cracks in the block between three cylinders,
burnt out valves, etc. It required a complete re-build and the only major
parts that remained were the block, head casing and crankshaft. (I sent
it away to my Jaguar repair man to be re-built, as the job required a lot
of engineering.)
