About

from version 1 site....

I was tired of running NSW coal/wheat trains in Japan or USA or out of Settle, so I built a freeware route for MSTS which is based on the line from Maitland to Werris Creek.

With lots of coal loading locations, a (mainly)   double line and short but steep gradients to stagger up and dynamic down, it seemed an ideal portion of NSW to do. Let alone the rear end ‘banking’ up Ardglen !!!

The route is ‘based’ on the gradients and curves of the line, excluding the section Aberdeen to Scone.

Using mainly default objects from MSTS meant, of couse, the buildings etc look like nothing in reality from this location, although I have ‘shaped’ the terrain to look like that in the area.

The ‘major’ terrain /scenery has been modelled                                              eg....Ardglen tunnel, Lake Liddel and Minimbah bank.

Some areas had to be ‘made up’ as I didnt know the area well enough, but the relevant grades are certainly there, and anyone who knows the area should be able to pick up where they are by the terrain                                                                          eg...’winding’ down into Singleton, climbing up thru Minimbah, dropping down to Belford and Branxton etc etc...

Stations and bridges alas are also mostly default items ( although Michael Thompson’s NSWGR Stations, Signal boxes and Goods Shed are included), and terrain shaping had to be simplified account restrictions in the Route Editor, and the station yard trackwork in most cases has been simplified.
