1980 Bankers
Mark Smiths weatherbeaten locos
view out of leading 48 Chillotts Ck
Ardglen

It’s 1980, at sunset (by the clock, that is!!!, By the ’sun’ its actually morning)

NSW is trialling ‘banking’ on the front between Willow Tree and Murrurrundi.

You have already attached a 48 and 442 to the train locos of 48 and 80, and are sitting in the platform.

Once the down train passes, roar off, in a thick cloud of black Alco smoke.

The activity only ‘officially’ runs to Ardglen, but the route is set all the way to coal unloader

1 and 1/2 hours away, but there is no traffic beyond Ardglen..
