Several ‘activities’ are included, ranging from 20” to 3 hours to complete. Of course you can always save an activity ‘F2’ and come back and complete it later on, or
you can quit anytime by pressing ‘esc’.
My activities aren’t like the MSTS ones, you don’t complete it, then the game freezes and you get a ‘congratulations’ message. My activities set up the route, the crosses and when you get to the end,
you can do anything you fancy, to finish just hit ‘esc’.
Most activities include A1 traffic, that is computer run trains that you will pass or cross. As these trains will appear at a set time, you have to ensure you run your train as expeditiously as
possible. On the double line it isn’t as important but set crosses on single lines are. Where possible I’ll include the crossing time in the run down of the activity.
HANDY HINTS:
Make use of the F10 key clock, especially where I’ve noted a set time to cross someting.
After crossing a train in the single line section, if the signal does not clear after the other
train has passed, just pick up notch 1, and it should clear. (for some reasons, the A1 dispatcher sometimes forgets you’re there).
Due to early/late running, or a mistake on my part, a signal may not clear. If so, hit the ‘Tab’
key, and the nice American will tell you if you can pass the signal at stop or not. If you aren’t crossing a train and he wont let you pass...sorry...hit ‘esc’ and finish up.
