What is the Jazz Action Society (JAS)?

We are a non-profit organisation with a mission to promote Australian Jazz and Jazz in Australia.

We do this by:

* Mailing a monthly newsletter to our members (and some selected media persons) to
    keep them informed of forthcoming gigs and events.

* Organising concerts on the second Wednesday of most months at the Paddington
    Woollahra RSL auditorium.

* Actively seeking new members to join NSW Jazz Action Society to help to increase
    attendance at venues featuring live jazz.

contains Musician Biographies, Jazz Festival Information, CD and Concert Reviews, a comprehensive Gig Guide and much more!

Extraordinary General Meeting:

 An Extraordinary General Meeting was held on Wednesday, 12 October to discuss the continuation or even the cessation of the Jazz Action Society of NSW. With vacancies left by some committee members who will be resigning in the New Year and no new volunteers offering to join the committee, it's now up to an Eastside Radio Director's meeting to see if Eastside Radio can offer assistance to keep the JAS continuing. The JAS will continue to operate until January 31st 2012. Keep watching for an update.
