Sam & Ilsa's Last Hurrah
Rachel Cohn & David Levithan
Allen & Unwin
Sam & Ilsaís Last Hurrah by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan is romance fiction. The novel is about twins Sam and Ilsa, who throughout high school throw dinner parties for their friends. These dinner parties have rules: each twin invites three guests and the other doesnít know who they are until the dinner. This is the story of their last dinner party, at which a lot goes wrong, but a lot also goes right. The six guests and their hosts are quite possibly the weirdest group you could come across.
The novel is fun, random and sweet, the perfect story to help people realise that itís ok not to know what they want to do in life. I liked this book because of the setting, which played a big part in the story, and the characters because they were all so different. I thought that the book was easy enough to read, but at a few points it was kind of hard to follow the dialogue, and I would have preferred if the book wasnít set over only one night.
