Prisoner of Ice and Snow by Ruth Lauren is a novel set in a sort of fantasy world resembling medieval Russia. Valourís twin sister Sasha has been imprisoned for life in Demidovaís prison of ice and snow, Tyuríma, for stealing Queen Anaís music box. Valour plans to rescue her from the inside, and plots to kill the prince to get herself arrested. It is a selfless plan, a very dangerous mission in a very dangerous prison from which no one has ever escaped.  The plan could cost both of them their lives.

This story starts in the thick of the action and will suck you in from the moment you start reading. The characters are interesting, and the plot is suspenseful, but you must be patient as the story slowly reveals its mysteries. I recommend this book to readers between 12 and 15 years old. The language isnít very difficult, but there are some fairly graphic descriptions of hunting animals.
