Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Bat
illustrated by Anne Yi
Twinkle twinkle little bat is a compilation of beastly bedtime stories written by Australia’s most loved children authors such as Andy Griffiths, Tony Wilson, Frances Watts and many more. It is filled with terrific twisted stories-from sleepovers of doom to pirate dance parties which will make everyone shake in their beds with laughter. It contains humorous and spooky illustrations by Anne Yi.
My personal favourite story is Yellowhead and the three traumatised bears. I liked this story because it was based on the story Goldilocks and the three bears. In the story ‘Yellowhead’ discovers a house in the woods. She falls asleep in one bed and when she wakes up, she sees bears. What happens next is a mystery?
I enjoyed this book as it involves dancing pirates, children driving cars and animals that speak. I would recommend this book for people aged seven and over. I found this book very easy to read apart from a few words. I really liked the mixture of short stories from some of my favourite authors. Overall, I would rate this book a nine out of ten.
