This whole TGA site is free.. in the sense nothing costs anything, except for the time... there are free services available on the net, which we use. This explains the advertising that you will see.. Naturally, we select the less intrusive and most functional of these services, so it takes time to analyse it all. Some ads, when combined, cover the whole screen, leaving only a thin strip to view the page ..wicked!! The feature for you is , that if you wish to do your own site , you may choose, the same services.

What we'll do, is have this front page for public viewing, with information they would find useful, and a password protected area for subscribed members. In this area we'd have more stuff pertaining to our association. At the moment you can freely rattle around to get an idea of what you could get.. until we activate the login for subscribed members.

Because of our limited funding and smaller membership, we can turn this limitation to our advantage, make it more characterized and individual..

One feature, that may be of interest, will be grower webpages about your operation, as described in the Taro Topics newsletter. You could use this web reference on your boxes of taro as a promotional thing. If you have your own site, we can link you to the Grower Page. If you are unable to thwack up your own page, just take some photos & write out what you want and we'll put it up. Here's an example of what the people in Hawaii do.. This offer, of course, is to subscribed members. What this does is present consumer assurances about your product... this is the future of marketing. It's been said 'there's as much in marketing, as there is growing' so inputs from this sector, would be, of the same importance as the cultivation.

The Hawaiians have a very comprehensive web presence.. this is a good example of how this community of taro growers have put together an informative ring, to address the needs of both growers and consumers. You'll find more of them in the Members Links Page.

The same principles can be applied to our industry here in Australia. We have a large untapped market base.. the European Australian. Selling taro doesn't end at the front gate... growers need to inform the agents, wholesaler, retailer and consumer, and vice versa... all interests are helping each other. Using this website method of communication, we create the elements of a reciprocative cycle. ....separate but united.
