Majacraft only manufacture double treadle spinning wheels and a range of accessories for wheels and for wool crafting. Their designs are unique and the wheels are built as double treadle wheels rather than a modified single pedal design. Products come with a 2 year warranty.

Often the question -"why two pedals?" A question we sometimes ask in return is "would you attempt to ride a bicycle with a single pedal?" The answer is of course obvious.
A double treadle wheel gives a much smoother flow of power to the wheel which flows on to the hands of the spinner. Your body is relaxed in front of the wheel and not twisted to operate the pedals and this has gained commendation from chiropractors who have assessed Majacraft wheels. The original double treadle wheel was built for a handicapped person, who enjoyed spinning, in order to exercise both legs at the same time. The result was a wheel that was like no other produced at the time.

Majacraft wheels and products are fully assembled before shipping and are tested at all speeds before they gain the testers approval. After testing they will be partially dissasembled (depending on the model) for shipping.

They combine modern technology with traditional concept and design and the wheels run on sealed bearings, requiring little maintanence. The flyer shafts are made from stainless steel to give the longest lasting and quietest running as well as never rusting. All products are finished with three coats of lacquer, each being hand rubbed between coats before assembly. To gain the smoothest running, the flyers are made from the lightest materials and each flyer is balanced before fitting to a wheel.

Many of the products use MDF, a compressed wood product as a core for the main wheel. Majacraft use this product for its stability that is superior to almost all solid wood in extremes of climate while giving the weight necessary to provide the smoothness required for perfect results.

Majacraft are often asked for changes to be made to our wheels to suit individual customers. They can provide this service where practical. These changes can be from flyers and bobbins to having your name routered onto your wheel or on a small plaque. They even produce wheels to suit taller or shorter spinners if required.
