Murray Bookchin, American social ecologist

 Although not well known outside of the field of social ecology, Bookchin’s ideas rightly belong within mainstream philosophy and environmental debate. Bookchin contributes the organicist vision of an alternative society that would be truly sustainable. That such a society appears to contemporary minds as completely idealistic shows just how alienated humans have become from organic reality.
