Glenn Albrecht is an original thinker. However, he acknowledges inspiration from the pre-Socratics, early Chinese and Indian philosophers, Europeans, Americans, and indigenous and non-indigenous Australian philosophers in a long tradition of organicist thinking.

Thinkers to whom Glenn extends particular gratitude for their inspiration are:

Murray Bookchin - American social ecologist
Elyne Mitchell – Australian pioneering environmental writer
David Rapport – Canadian pioneer of Ecosystem Health
Roger Trigg – British Realist Philosopher
Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel- German Idealist Philosopher
