 Soliphilia is a new concept and neologism developed by Glenn Albrecht, and first presented in a public lecture at Murdoch University on 19 February, 2009.

The concept was first described in writing to Jill Albrecht, in an email on 1 February, 2009. Glenn developed Soliphilia as a  positive counterpoint to his concept of Solastalgia.

Soliphilia is defined as:

love of and responsibility for a place, bioregion, planet and the unity of interests within it.
