Penelope Benton is a photographic artist with a penchant for replicating images from old movies and early erotic postcards. Her work deals with love, beauty and moments of intimacy between women with a cinematic flavour. Using references to the romanticised Parisian brothel and Ladies Cigar Lounge, her images draw from fashion and erotic art to create or illustrate scenes of desire and allure. Under the guise of Lady Penelope, her recent work can be found in Slit, a dyke and trans sex magazine based in Sydney Australia and available internationally.

LadyP also documents shows at Gurlesque: the lesbian strip club, and is part of the Sheilafest and Scooter collectives. She is also currently on the Board of Directors at Firstdraft gallery, and has recently joined a new collective to build a new creative venue space in Sydney's inner west.
