Edward Herbert Smith (1802 Stratford, England
- 1876 Kew, Victoria) was the son of Edward Smith and Mary Adams.
Edward Herbert Smith married Elizabeth Powell
at Westminster, London in 1821. In all Edward Herbert and Elizabeth

Edward Herbert Smith with his
wife Elizabeth immigrated to Melbourne aboard the "Try",
a 774 ton ship carrying 254 passengers that had departed Bristol
on 11 October 1852 and arrived Port Phillip 12 January 1853. Accompanying
them were their children: Elizabeth, Mary, Henry, Rebecca, Amelia,
William, Caroline, Susan and Anna Graves.
Their son Edward Herbert Smith, who had married
Anne Elizabeth Rose Townsend in 1851, was also aboard the "Try".
Edward Herbert, noted as an accountant at
the marriage of his daughter Anne Greives (1867), died circa 1857
? Elizabeth died on 17 February 1871 at Buckingham St, Richmond.

Edward Herbert Smith (1825-1893),
the eldest son of Edward and Elizabeth, married Annie
Elizabeth Rose Townsend, daughter of James Townsend and Elizabeth
Rose. Edward Herbert was also the brother of Anna Grieves Smith
who married John Robert Townsend.
Edward Herbert Smith was a solicitor who
at some time practiced at Drouin and Richmond, Victoria. At his
death in 1893 he resided at Baker Street, Richmond. Anne Elizabeth
Rose Smith died on 1 August 1900 at 13 Baker Street, Richmond.
Edward and Anne had the following children:

A newspaper item notes the death of George
Herbert Townsend Smith on the 30th August, at his late residence,
23 Hawthorn Road, Northcote "George Herbert beloved husband
of Alice Helen and loving father of Ivy (Mrs Fowler), Ruby, Vera,
Alan, Harold, Roy, and Olive, aged 59 years (private interment August
31)". An earlier birth record listed the birth of a daughter
on 17 August 1885 at Hamburgh Cottage, North Richmond.
John Alfred Townsend Smith (1864-1929) married
Martha Gill and they had at least four children:

Herbert James ( -1898),
George Alfred ( - 1899); and
Lilian ( - 1896).
Alice Blanch Townsend Smith married Gerald Crisp.
A line descendant from Alice Bland and Gerald Crisp now resides
in Western Australia.

as a gentleman, farmer, inventor married twice.
The first marriage was to Mary Gauder circa
1866. Henry Vincent and Mary had the following children:

Mary died on 25 August 1878 at Albert Terrace,

R C Church, North Fitzroy Henry Vincent Smith, second son of Henry
Vincent Smith, of Yarago, Gippsland married Annie Priscilla, youngest
daughter of James Doherty, late S S teacher.
The second marriage of Henry Vincent Smith
was to Mary Vesco on the 16th April, at All Saint's' Church, St
Kilda. Mary was the eldest daughter of Joseph Versco, formerly of
Dublin. Henry Vincent and Mary had he following children:

Ernest Garfield died 6 September 1955 at
75 Park Rd, Glen Iris.
Charles Stuart Smith, mechanic, died 26
May 1964 at 25 Queen St, Seaholme having married twice. The first
at West Melbourne in 1909 to Ivy Edith Evylyn Grant with the following
children:

The second marriage in 1939 was to Minnie
