IntroductionThe following mp3 audio recordings represent selected highlights of my 1980-2001 VHF TV and FM DX received at Sydney, Australia.
From a standard cassette player, the audio was transferred to a PC using Musicmatch Jukebox 7.2 Plus. 64 Kbps was selected as a compromise for audio quality verses bandwidth.
My default mp3 player is VLC Media Player. MW and VHF DX recordings are currently recorded via Audacity free-ware PC audio editor from the line-out jacks of a Sony XDR-S3HD, or Icom R8500 communications receiver.

93.1 MHz Yumi FM, Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea received in Sydney via 2Es. 1,700 miles Es is relatively rare at 88-108 MHz FM. This is because the maximum distance for single-hop Es at band 2 averages 1,400 miles. 2Es usually starts around 1,900-2,000 miles, hence 1,700 miles is in the 'hole' region of a doughnut Es path. Vanuatu 90.0 MHz FM at 1,550 miles is also rare.
An Onkyo T-9090 II FM tuner with four 110 KHz filters, and Triax 8 element 86-108 MHz yagi were used to receive Yumi FM.
