From the Mayor's Desk

Once again, as elections approach, it is my duty to report to the ratepayers of Pau City, on our achievements over the past twelve months as your representatives at the local level.
There have been numerous improvements to the services for local residents, - garbage is collected twice a year now, instead of once, - provided it is sorted into recyclable and non-recyclable lots, wrapped or tied, and left 27cm from the edge of the road on the first or second Tuesday after the first full moon in both April and November, - depending on the weather.
A 100 per cent improvement, which I might add, was brought about by a motion in council supported by all of my team.
Last year, you may recall, we floated the idea of forming a twin-town alliance if a suitable partner could be found, and to that end, I spent several months touring the world looking for potential "twinnables". I am proud to inform you that there have been approaches from not one, but two towns, both eager to form partnerships with Pau City. Whilst not on our original itinerary, representatives from both Tikrit in Iraq and Mazar-i-Sharif in Afghanistan, have made serious offers, and are keen to see for themselves just what makes Pau City tick.
I deeply regret that due to rising costs, rates will have to increase this year by 15 per cent, but I am sure that ratepayers will appreciate that these things are beyond our control.
Remember, - vote for me and my team, and we promise to keep up the good work. |
