Zach Scolaro began his career with WOODVILLE in the Autumn 2003 season with the Under 12 Blitz. Zach made his debut in Grading 1 of Autumn 2003, scoring 9pts in a 42-6 win.
During his first season, Zach scored a still current career best 92 points in 20 games, at an average of 4.6ppg with a game high of 12pts coming in Round 1, a 49-18 win.
In 2005, Zach passed 100 career games with WOODVILLE, and in the Autumn 2005 season, enjoyed his 2nd highest productive scoring season with 90 points in 21 games, Zach also took on coaching for the first time in 2005, establishing the amazing record of winning his first 20 games, leading the U12 Woodville Magic to a Premiership and an undefeated season in Autumn 2005 waltzing through Under 12 Division 1. Zach, ably assisted by Jordan Hughes, backed this up admirably in the Spring 2005 season with the Magic, who moved up an age group to Under 14 Division 2, when he guided the Magic to back-to-back Grand Finals, making the Under 14 Division 2 Grand Final against the Woodville Hornets. Although the Hornets would win this Premiership battle, Zach became part of history as he, his team and the Hornets took part in only the 2nd All-WOODVILLE Grand Final ever. Zach made it a hat trick with the Magic as he and his team made it through to the Autumn 2006 Grand Final in Under 14 Division 2 taking the Premiership with a 63-30 victory over Hoppers Hurricanes. Back to playing achievements, Zach's highest points total in a season came in the Autumn 2003 season, playing with the Blitz in Under 12 Division 1, Zach scored 92 points from 20 games at an average of 4.6ppg with a season high of 12pts coming in Round 1. Over his career, Zach has yet to score the magical scored 20+ points in a game, but he has scored 10 or more in a game on 7 occasions. In 14 finals games Zach has scored 49 points. Zach has scored 6 points in his 2 Grand Final appearances, at an average of 3.0 points per Grand Final. Over Zach's career, which is still currently active with the Under 16 Blitz, a career now spanning 3 years, Zach has played for 2 WOODVILLE teams. He has played for the SPECTRES and BLITZ, ranging in age groups from under 12's through to under 16's. Zach has played in two grand finals, those coming with the Blitz in Spring 2003 and Autumn 2005. Combined with his coaching Grand Final appearances in Autumn 2005 with the U12 Magic and back-to-back with the U14 Magic in Spring 2005. Zach has yet to play in a Premiership, but has won 2 Premierships as the coach of the U12 Magic, taking the division 1 Premiership with a massive 76-18 victory in Autumn 2005 and a 63-30 Premiership victory in Autumn 2006 with the Under 14 Division 2 Magic. Now in his 9th season, Zach has scored more than 100 points in a season on 0 occasions, yet he has got himself into the nervous 90's on two occasions. Zach is a player of whom you dont know how much you miss until he is not there. An effective player, capable of silently holding their own. |
