ABOUT ME/SAPPHIRE HORSE ACCESSORIES
For those that are interested, here is some background information. I have been a horselover since the age of about 8. However it wasnt until I was 16 that I got lucky and was finally given my first pony, then leased several others until I could afford my own at 19. I currently am lucky enough to own two lovely horses. Jack is a 15.2hh, bay standardbred gelding. He was a rescue horse (from Cedarsprings Horses) and I've owned him for about 3 years. He is my best mate and my angel, however due to headshaking syndrome sadly cant be ridden at the moment. Recently I have also purchased a 16.1 chestnut thoroughbred gelding, named Gizmo. He is my new superstar horse! He is quite well educated (brilliant temperament) and with any bit of luck will take me in to the show ring and competition world for the first time very shortly! I hope to try my hand at dressage and show jumping.
I have always ridden purely for pleasure, however I have always wanted nice things for my horses. I mean what horsey girl doesnt want her beloved beasts to look good! However up until a few years ago I was never able to afford anything apart from the basic necessities for my horses (and even that was a struggle). Things have changed though since working full time and building up this business and my other very successful web design business (Sapphire Web Design).
I always wanted one of those fancy show browbands, but even when I finally had the money for them, I couldn't see the point in spending so much of my hard earned money for something that simply looked good (and wasn't really needed). To me $100+ is a little overboard for my horses who at best will compete at adult riders and the local ag shows etc. Which is why I set about making them myself. I sold a couple on Ebay with great success, so Sapphire Horse Accessories was born!
So, now two years later I have had many happy clients. My aim remains as always to produce high quality browbands that are affordable! In my mind, quality should not have to cost a fortune. Eventually I hope to expand in to other types of horse equipment and accessories (bridles and saddle blankets etc). I do not promise to make the best, as Im sure those $100+ ones that you can buy are probably a worthwhile investment for those serious showies. However my aim is to cater for the pleasure rider, pony clubber, riding club member etc who want to look good yet not spend a fortune. That being said I do believe my browbands would look brilliant in any royal show!
Feedback so far has been incredibly positive and encouraging, and all feedback will forever be welcome and appreciated.
