About this site
This web site was created
in July 1999, and grew with each contribution until 2002 when the
site was subject to an internet scam. From this point it was no longer
possible to keep the site as an interactive community so the site
became "frozen in time" and is now an archive of the interaction
from 1999-2002.
This site is intended to be a place where a storehouse of self-help
resources could be shared with others.
This site is for cancer patients - especially newly diagnosed - families,
friends and medical support people, to facilitate exchange of information
and resources about having cancer, focusing on well-being and self-help
in order to maximise chances of survival and quality of life.
This site
has been set up by Nola, a cancer patient from Sydney, Australia,
who has survived (and thrived since) a diagnosis of life-threatening
cancer with poor prognosis. See Nola's
story
The site is best viewed with Internet Explorer 4 or higher at screen resolution of 800x600, but should display well in IE3 and Netscape 3+. Most pages should also display well at screen resolution of 640x480.
Features which slow download time and are not supported across the browsers have been kept to a minimum to enhance usability and accessibility.
