HARTLEY TS16 VICTORIAN CHAMPIONSHIP
14th—15th February 2009
Portarlington Sailing Club on the Bellarine Peninsula hosted the 2008/09 Hartley TS16 Victorian Championship.
Twelve boats greeted the starters gun for five challenging short races over two days, with wind strengths across the range, regular wind shifts and tidal influences, a hard fought series ensured throughout the fleet with many position changes and numerous duels being fought out right to the line.
The outright series was won by “Tru-Blu” with “Phantom” second and “Lightning” third.
It was encouraging to see new faces amongst the fleet as well as the return of many ‘new regulars’.
Thanks to Portarlington S.C. who hosted an excellent series both on and off the water and all were made to feel most welcome, and Gillian Horvath for co-ordinating the series.
