About us

HistoricNeedleworkBooks.all.at was started in 2005 in response to a need for a site dedicated to providing quality information about historic forms of needlework, and the books to learn those techniques from, or learn more about the techniques.

How does it work?
We provide recommendations of books in specialised subject areas. We then direct you to  Amazon.com to make your purchase. It is through purchasing books via this direct link that allows us to fund and continue this site. Please support us by doing this.

Why should I use your service rather than just going to Amazon?
We have the expertise to provide information on the techniques themselves, and recommend books on the subject. Amazon does not provide you with this background information.

Who is behind it all?
Yvette Stanton, the author of Elegant Hardanger Embroidery and Mountmellick Embroidery: Inspired by Nature is the owner of the site.

Yvette has a particular interest in historic forms of needlework, and sees the preservation of the skills of historic needlework techniques as being an incredibly important part of our cultural history.

We hope that the site provides you with a useful starting point for all your adventures in historic needlework embroidery. Bookmark us so that you can return!
